There's no doubt about it, when you mount a campaign the more heavyweights you have on your side the better. That's why it's a pity that the Midlands TGWU boss Alan Law won't be able to help in the door knocking ceremony — metaphorically speaking, of course. Alan's off to Romania next week to see how transport works there. He's taking along eleven of his members for the ride. At any other time Midland's hauliers might breathe easier and welcome the rest from TGWU activities it would give them — the pity is they are already on holiday.
