and will be based at the company's Wigan hq. Mr Gooseman who joins Pitt from a similar position with British Leyland, will be responsible for strengthening the customer and product support team.
G. V. Burks, 44, since 1968 chief financial 3fficer of the then newly formed Freightliner Jivision of British Railways, has been ippointed assistant managing director of =reightliners Ltd. Jesse Delicate has retired as group transport adviser to Courtauids Ltd following 35 years' service to the company, but is continuing to be available as adviser to its chairman. Mr Delicate, a former president of the Freight Transport Association, was one of the organizers of the first Lorry Driver of the Year round in Coventry 18 years ago.
Peter Newman, formerly public relations manager of British Leyland Europe in Lausanne, has been appointed public relations manager of British Leyland International. Mr Newman takes over his duties at Berkeley Square House on August 10.
R. F. Bennett, deputy chairman, London Transport Executive, is one of 10 Chartered Institute of Transport members to be elected to serve on the CIT council for three years from October 1 1971.
