SCANIA IS offering a €100,000 (£80,000) R-series truck to the winner of its sixth Young European Truck Driver award. The competition has been
running for more than 10 years and is open to all category C+E drivers aged 35 or under. After taking a multiple-choice driving knowledge test, 12 entrants will be invited to a driving skills event at the manufacturer's UK headquarters in Milton Keynes in July. Six will then participate in the UK final at Truckfest Original on 30-31 August. The UK winner will then travel to Sweden in September to take part in the European final.
