NORWICH HAULIER FreightForce Distribution has put 10 new Euro-5 Renault Premium 460hp trucks into service. They join the company's general haulage fleet that delivers around the UK and on the Continent.
The Premiums, supplied by Norfolk Truck and Van Norwich, are on a repair and maintenance contract with the dealership. They will replace 08-plate Dafs and Scanias bought at the beginning of the economic downturn when the firm took
advantage of competitive offers from those manufacturers. The deal takes the number of Renault trucks in the 40-strong fleet to 14.
MD Ed Miles said: "Today our decision is based on whole life costs and our structured procurement process set out to identify the best end-to-end deal for our business. The Premium came out top, based on our key criteria of fuel economy, reliability and whole life cost."
The Palletforce member is also due to evaluate a Renault T demonstrator. Miles added: "We expect to have the demonstrator for three or four weeks, and will look carefully at how it performs. It is about dipping our toes in the water, ready for Euro-6."
