2010 took a nosedive this week following its move to slash over £300m from the Strategic Rail Authority's grants budget.
The decision has been roundly condemned by English, Welsh and Scottish Railways as "bitterly disappointing", while the Freight Transport Association says it has already received calls 'from angry shippers" worried about funding for future rail-head projects.
