Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A Well-designed 20-seater Coach Body Fitted on a War-used, Chassis which has been Entirely Stripped and Rebuilt.

THE 20-seater coach on a 22 h.pC.B.-type Daimler chassis shown in the accompanying illustration is the product of J. M. Roberts, Cathnor Read Motor Works, Shepherd's Bosh, Lon. don, W., and is the fourth coach of the -same type supplied to Messrs. W. Buck and Son, of Week Street, Maidstone, Kent.

The first of these was supplied to Messrs. Buck and Son 18 months ago, andthi; as also the two succeeding vehicles, has given such great satisfaction that an order for a fourth vehicle was placed, and delivery was given about a week ago.

In each case the chassis had seen war service and, at Mr. Roberts's works, each had been entirely stripped to the bare chassis frame and every detail completely overhauled.. When we were examining the vehicle illustrated by us, details were given of the work which had been done upon it. The engine, gearbox and back axle had been completely dismantled, the crankshaft and camshaft had been trued, reground awl fitted with new bearings, this piston sieoves and pistons had been renewed, a new water pump had been supplied, and a new Zenith carburetter fitted. The magneto supplied carries with it a 12 months' guarantee. The radiator had been entirely stripped and, rebuilt with new tubes.

In the case of the gearbox and the back axle new ball races had been fitted, and if the slightest trace of wear had shown on a, gearwheel it had been replaced with a new component. A C.A.V. commercial lighting set had been added, and right throughout the chassis there was evidence of care, thought arid attention to the work put. upon it, and, so far as one can tell from a brief but careful scrutiny, the work had been done conscientiously and was a good example of what a properly reconditioned vehicle should be.

The body which had boon supplied is

built of sheet-steel panelling en a sound frame with five rows of seats, each of which has an . entrance door, with an extra door on the off side for the driver. The radiator is polished, and the dash is of bright aluminium. The seating'

throughout is trimmed in leather and is very well finished. The hood can be operated by one man, and is made of duck to duck with nickel fittings. A eloub!e windscreen, the upper portion on the driver's seat being hinged, is fitted, a rear-view mirror forming part of the equipment.

The outfit includes solid .tyres on 'caste steel wheels, or at L1130extra,-Michelin detachable wheels and 955 • non.

155 ram. .pneumatic tyres, and a spare wheel and tyre are supplied. Several of this type of vehicle have been suprelied with pneumatic tyres, and they have given great satisfaction. The price of the vehicle; as illustrated by us, is £650.
