KEEPING YOURSELF and others safe will be a recurring theme at this year’s CV Show.

Among the exhibitors showing new safety technology will be Brigade Electronics, whose new products include a wireless camera monitor system.

A Brigade spokesperson says that while wireless systems have been around for a few years, the picture quality has been less than perfect. New digital systems mean that interference from other vehicle systems has been dealt with and picture quality is much improved. Brigade will also be showing its new generation sidescan sensor system, which warns drivers if cyclists or pedestrians are detected in blind-spots. Sidescan has been improved so that it operates even in the wind and rain.

The CV Show runs on 24-26 April at the NEC Birmingham.

Kent-based Alan Firmin is moving to a new site after outgrowing its Snodland base. The Palletforce member, which in September 2011 branched out into containers (CM 22 September 2011), will move to the Kemsely Fields Business Park next month.

Derbyshire’s Bow Distribution has moved from UK Pallets to the United Pallet Network (UPN), ending an eight-year relationship with its former network. It will cover the same DE postcode for UPN. It has been replaced at UK Pallets by Allegro Transport.
