North Yorkshire firm David Dale Removals has kicked off the donations to the ‘Fight Freight Crime, Save TruckPol’ campaign.
David Dale, owner of the removals and storage business, which specialises in services from the UK to France, Spain and Portugal, urges other haulage companies to donate to the appeal, saying TruckPol is “too important to lose”.
Both trade associations are urging for more to be done.
FTA chief executive Theo de Pencier says: “If we allow TruckPol to die, it would be a tragedy for the industry.” RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning says: “The money needed to ensure the security of [TruckPol] for another 12 months equates, in real terms, to less than the price of two new tractor units. Surely the future safety and security of the industry is worth this investment?”
