Reynolds Logistics UK

BULK LIQUIDS haulier Reynolds Logistics UK wants to base 25 vehicles and 22 trailers at its facility in Merseyton Road, Ellesmere Port.

The new 3.5-acre head ofice and transport operations hub, located off junction 8 of the M53 in Cheshire, will house the haulier’s two separate divisions, Mini Bulk and Large Bulk, as well as providing a base for the company’s UK Driver Safety Team.

The haulier’s parent company is Dublin-based Reynolds Logistics, a major bulk fuels distributor.

Chris Dalton, commercial director at Reynolds Logistics UK, says: “Over the past three years, Reynolds Logistics UK has expanded its business by more than 400%.

“The north west is home to some of the biggest companies in the fuels and lubricants business.

Our logistics centre is located in close proximity to both fuel and lubricant terminals, meaning we are able to provide an increased service, without compromise on customer service.”

Surefreight (SW)

SUREFREIGHT (SW) will base four vehicles and ive trailers at a unit in Foreshore Road, Cardiff, subject to the following undertakings: • maintenance systems, documentation and vehicle inspections will be audited by a trade association within three months, and then every six months; • audit reports will be prepared, acted upon and retained for at least two years.

• a copy of the report will be forwarded to the trafic area ofice within 14 days of its receipt; • after three clear audits it would be open to the company to seek to have this undertaking removed.

Hancock Brothers

HANCOCK BROTHERS can have ive vehicles and 15 trailers at Midway Farm, Haverfordwest, subject to the following undertakings: • all vehicles and trailers will be given a road rolling brake test every twelve weeks; • vehicles and trailers will receive a full safety inspection by independent contractors every four weeks.

MAXI HAULAGE is looking to base 70 vehicles and 120 trailers at a site in Langford Way, Appleton, Warrington.

DHL HAS been given the go-ahead to locate 34 vehicles and 20 trailers at the B&Q site on the Whitehouse Industrial Estate in Runcorn.

• Disciplinary action against Morecambe-based Specialist Crane Hire will be considered at a PI on 29 February. The transport manager’s repute will also be looked at.

• The TC will look at disciplinary action against Sale-based BT Aggregates at a PI on 6 March. The transport manager’s repute will also be up for consideration.

• A PI on 12 March will discuss a new application from Ian Bayliss trading as IB Transport, based in Manchester.

• On 15 March, a PI will look at disciplinary action against Albert Westlands Kay, trading as AWK Transport, based in Manchester. The transport manager’s repute will also be on the agenda.

• A PI on 16 March will look at disciplinary action against Andrew Towns and James Davies Towns trading as A&J Towns, based in Warrington.
