Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QThere are certain times of the year, during company holidays when our fleet is not used. For example, during the summer the fleet is off the road for two weeks during the shutdown, and the same thing happens for one week during the Christmas/New Year break.

Is there any way we can make any savings on tax or insurance by claiming refunds for those periods when the fleet is off the road?

I3W, Aberdeen AThe answer to this questiontion depends on many variables. Firstly, if your broker had done his job properly and knew of this situation, he could have built this into the premium at the commencement, it could also depend on the fleet size and your previous claims experience.

If your insurers allow you to insure against fire and theft only then it is worth asking your broker to investigate (or change your broker).

With regard to the excise licence, you can only get whole months refunded, so the answer is no.
