• Smiths Shearings of Wigan has placed a repeat order with Leyland Bus for 66 Tiger chassis worth over E2 million. When delivered later this year, they will boost Smiths Shearings' Tiger fleet up to 200 vehicles.
Since it was taken over by Volvo in 1988, Leyland Bus has been booming, winning 37% of all PSV registrations that year. Managing director John Arkwell says: "We are committed to re-establishing the Leyland Bus name as a world leader in passenger transport. Volvo has given us the means and motivation to achieve this."
