Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A £5.5 million order for new vehicles heralds major growth plans at BOC Gases, including a new division and a European production plant.

Seddon Atkinson is the major beneficiary of the vehicle order, supplying 30 Strato tractive units between now and May. They are the first daycab Stratos to conform to the Petroleum Regulations and will be used to distribute liquified and compressed gases throughout the UK.

Some of the vehicles will be used within a new BOC Gases division supplying liquid gas. Distribution engineering manager John Ostle says the new operation has been set up to offer a new product line to customers. It is the 10th BOC Gases business in the UK.

The company has also started building a gas production facility in northern Holland, its first major plant on the European mainland. Two Leyland Daf 95 Series tractors are based at the Dutch plant to supply gases to customers in northern Europe.

The Dutch plant is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year: in the meantime BOC Gases is meeting demand in Europe through exports of gases from some of its 42 UK sites.
