• Telehoist has transferred production of its Telloy smooth-sided aluminium tipping bodies to Charlesworth Transport Engineering, the Newark bodybuilding company established nine months ago by former Neville Charrold managing director Phil Charlesworth. Charlesworth says his company, which trades as Alubuilt Bodies, has produced 12 tipper bodies and 20 trailers so far. Now, with the agreement with Telehoist, all the tipper bodies produced by Alubuilt will be branded Telloy. The first of these should be completed by the end of next week, fitted to a Volvo FL6 destined for a London dealership.
Charlesworth says the linkup is beneficial to both parties as it enables Telehoist to concentrate on production of steel bodies at Cheltenham.
Alubuilt will also act as a distributor for Telehoist hydraulics products in the North, and for Telelube in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire area.
Charlesworth's company will also service Telehoist equipment in Newark, and he plans to appoint service agents. LI Telehoist claims to have been the first company to launch a plain-sided tipper in the UK. The body featured a V-shaped runner.
