• Coopers Filters, backed by its new parent company, Fiaam of Italy, is to invest £1 million in 1989 as the first part of a three-year package totalling over 23 million, ready for the Single European Market challenge in 1992, The package will concentrate on upgrading manufacturing processes, says Coopers, making them the most advanced of their kind within Europe plus funding for research.
The Welsh Office is backing Cooper's European development plans with a 2750,000 grant over the three years.
