Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HOW TIRED Sir Barrie Heath, president of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, must be of apologising for the British motor industry in particular and British industry in general.

It was his unhappy lot to have to do soonce again on the eve of the Amsterdam Commercial Motor Show. He had to admit that although commercial vehicle manufacturers had not suffered the same losses in production as car makers, output had been affected by widespread strikes outside as well as inside the motor industry.

In 1980 we must see the majority [of workers] express their rights and not be swayed by the noisy and disruptive militants who have for too long tended to have too big a say in what will happen in our country," Sir Barrie declared.

The lack of spontaneous enthusiasm among BL Longbridge workers for a strike in support of a discredited shop steward gives hope that Sir Barriers words may be translated into action.
