For a long time to come, diesel engines will be the most common power-units for trucks. Mercedes-Benz are, therefore, working very hard on further development of the diesel, to improve its performance and its environmental acceptability.
In our research programme, we are investigating and testing everything that could possibly be of benefit, because, to stay ahead, we must be able to forecast the future. Hybrid, electric, hydrogen and methanol engines are all being researched to assess their potential in energysaving and environmental protection.
This is why Mercedes-Benz commercials are always the very latest in technology.
