The Holdover plates are imported into the UK by Refrigeration Supply Co of Market Weighton, York, from the manufacturers Dale Refrigeration Co of the USA.

The system of storage plates is self-contained and cooled by a 3hp condensing unit mounted below the vehicle skirt, or may be plugged into a mains supply for overnight charge cooling.

Each plate is fitted with an eutectic solution. The configuration specified, using two roof-mounted and four wallmounted units, will provide an internal body temperature of minus 18° to minus 21°C (00 to minus 5°F) with up to 60 drops a day.
