Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Tax unacceptable

THE FREIGHT Transport Association has come out against any plans to replace the vehicle excise duty (road tax) with an increase in fuel tax.

Restricting its comments to an increase on petrol tax the FTA this week told the Department of Transport that such plans are "totally unacceptable" to the association.

A survey carried out by the FTA has shown that the plans will increase the tax yield from industry by between £150 million and £250 million per year.

Anglo-French terminal

CAVE WOOD, the Buckinghamshire based international haulage company is to establish a new terminal at Pantin, just north of Paris.

The move is being made in conjunction with Cave Wood's Parisian sister company in the TKM group, Mitjavile.

A fleet of 30 vehicles will operate from the new terminal, delivering Cave Wood's customers' goods around Paris. Both French and British trailers will be used at the terminal to simplify onward movement to other parts of France and to give quick turnrounds.

The site will also include new offices and a bonded warehouse.

Mack under one roof

MACK Distributors (UK) of Bolton has moved into new premises.

The new address is Firwood Works, off Thicketford Road, Bolton, BL2 3BD.

Administration, sales, service and parts departments are now all housed under one roof. A training school giving servicing courses for operators is also included on the new site.
