manufacturers over a long period. There is strong support for the view that, cost apart, air suspension provides the best ride — that is, in isolating the load from road irregularities. With regard to the 10in. diameter bags and small-diameter connecting pipe, it is easy to confuse load with pressure; very little air needs to flow from front to rear axles as the pressure is constant throughout both bags and the interconnecting pipes. As a result there is almost negligible time-lag before axle loads equalize, Mr Wragg is quite correct about the list bogie weights applicable in the UK. —
