I was. pleased to read Paul Brockington's article (CM February 2) regarding George Webb's experiences in handling flyash.

Here is some additional information which may be of interest. Mr Webb's Scammell fitted with the GKN Farr Autopamic returned 45,000 miles on its first air-cleaner element and the Perkins-engined Dodge, which according to the article has 55.000 on the clock, is to the best of my knowledge still running with its original cartridge.

The cartridge is a dry-type disposable; we do not recommend any form of cleaning, and at a replacement cost at about the same price as a conventional tubular dry element we believe that many other operators could benefit from the use of our systems.

We have records of other operators handling fiyash, soda ash, cement ash, etc, on Dodge. Guy and Ford vehicles and if anyone would like the details of these installations we shall be happy to oblige.
