• A national competition, sponsored by Imperial Tobacco Group Ltd, offers a first prize of £1,500 to the winning team of three young managers, or potential managers. The runners-up receive £600, and winners of regional heats, £60. The competition will be run by the British Institute of Management and any team of three can enter provided the ages of participants are within the 23 to 35 age group.

Competitors will make an oral presentation on a subject of their choice provided it is concerned with the solution of management problems of current importance or with innovation and change relating to management in the future.
