QPEAKING at the annual dinner at Keswick recently of the West Cumberland Sub-area of the R.H.A. Livestock Functional Group, Mr. N. T. O'Reilly, of Carlisle, Northern Area chairman and National vice-chairman, criticized hauliers who did not charge the recently recommended increased rates. He said the well merited 74 per cent, increase had been widely publicized and if was disappointing to learn that 50 per cent. of the hauliers had not the courage to ask for the increase. The situation was not fair to those hauliers who had accepted the advice of those in London on whom they relied to sort out their troubles.
