The works committee of ErASTINGS Corporation is to purchase a petrol footpath roller at an estimated cost of £173.
The electricity committee of BEDFORD Corporation recommends the purchase of a 5-cwt. van, at an estimated cost of The agricultural committee of Cuxstriax County Council recommends the purchase of a van, at a cost not exceeding £150.
The question of buying two electrical refuse-collecting vehicles has been deferred until the rate estimates are reviewed by the financial and general purposes committee of the EAST HAM Borough Council.
At NEWPORT (Mon.) there is a scheme on hand for substituting buses for trams on the Snow Hill route, involving the purchase of six vehicles, but the tramways committee has deferred consideration of the proposal pending a report on the use of motorbuses and trolleybuses. Messrs. Grant, Cameron and Curie are supplying a 7-ton trailer to GLASGOW.
The watch committee of YAMOITTII Corporation has authorized the purchase of a fire-engine at not more than £1,500.
The fire brigade committee of CRANBROOK Parish Council has obtained sanction for a loan of 1450 for the provision of a fire-engine.
FLEETWOOD Urban District Council requires tenders for the supply of a lowloading petrol-driven refuse-collector of about 7 cubic yds. capacity. Tenders have to be delivered to the clerk, Town Hall, Fleetwood, by March 5th.
WEEMOUTE AND MELCOMBE REGIS Borough Council is inviting tenders for the supply of a gully-emptier, with an interchangeable refuse-collection body. Alternative tenders for supplying a gully-emptier which is not adaptable in this way will also be considered. Tenders have to be delivered to the town clerk, Municipal Offices. Weymouth, not later than to-morrow (February 24th).
