Go back 1B months to when ARR Craib joined PaPetline and you can chart a clear trend of medium-sized firms throwing their lots in with the network. This year started with PF Whitehead and Welch's Transport joining Palletline, swiftly followed by TP Niven. In May, network virgins TM Logistics and Olivers Transport signed up to Palletline.
Then, in the summer, came the big guns: German logistics giant Dascher took over Palletline member Leach Distribution and flagged its intention to achieve further scale in the UK through acquisition; and then Bibby Distribution took over TM Logistcs. Neither takeover led to a withdrawal from Palletline. DR Schenker and DSV Road became members in 2008.
