• The Leyland Daf engine reconditioning plant in St.Helens has been sold to British Polar Engines of Glasgow. About 10 engines per week can he remanufactured at the plant along with components such as differentials, pumps and gearboxes.
Under its new owners it will trade as ABE Diesels, remanufacluring engines and other components—these could include items that are not Leyland Daf, and not even automotive.
Its new parent company concentrates on the manufacture and supply of spare parts for marine diesels.
