TRANSPORT Minister William Rodgers has announced a Transport Supplementary Grant of £219 million for the year 1978/9 compared with £232 million for the previous year.
Mr Rodgers said that the cut to cut public expenditure. in the grant reflected the need Mr Rodgers told the House that he had been more generously disposed to counties which were observing the White Paper proposals on public transport but he added that no county would be penalised.
All the non-metropolitan counties have been granted 70 per cent of their support for bus services and special sup. port will be given to rural bus services.
