Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CRANE Fruehauf Trailers Ltd. has introduced a new range of standard step-frame semitrailers—previously made only to individual order. The trailers are available with main deck lengths of 16 ft., 18 ft., 20 ft. and 22 ft., with foredecks of either 9 ft. 6 in. or 10 ft. 6 in. The main deck height on all models is 3 ft. 81 in. on 9.00-20 tyres. Main decks are 12 in. lower than the foredecks. Frames are built on the same principles as Crane Fruehauf flat platforms, with fabricated 1 beam main members and joist section cross-members threaded through the main beams and welded in.

Particular attention has been given to the frame in the crank area, where the high tensile flanges are lapped round the crank so that stress in that area is not carried on butt welds.

Suspension is Crane Fruehauf F2 underslung. Axles, brakes and radius rods are identical to the standard Crane Fruehauf F2 type, but high arch springs are used and the axle is carried on packers above these. The U-bolts securing the axles to the springs also carry the castings to which the low-mounted radius rods are attached. The spring hanger brackets are steel pressings and the wearing surfaces are steel castings.

Axles are 20,000 lb. tubular type and brakes are 16+ in. X 7 in., S-cam type operated by three-line air pressure and winch handbrake. Standard flooring is lt in. half-lapped hardwood laid longitudinally.
