PERHAPS for the first time in their official experience the Western Traffic Commissioners deliberated in the back of a bus at Bodmin Road Station, Cornwall, last week. They decided to allow an application by the Western National Omnibus Co. for additional services to come into force when the Padstow branch line closes in January.
After hearing objections to the proposals from three local authorities, the Commissioners adjourned the hearing to take a personal look at the route.
They imposed two conditions—that the new services will not operate until January 30, two days after the line closes, and that buses used shall be limited to 7 ft. 6 in. in width,
