AEC Swift single-deckers feature in the latest Sunderland Corporation Transport one-man bus orders, adding yet another vehicle type to its mixed fleet. Ten Swifts (bodies by MetropolitanCammell-Weymann Ltd.) have been ordered together with another 24 Leyland Panthers (Strachans bodies).
Sunderland Corporation already operates 14 AEC Reliance single-deckers with dual-entrance 42-seat bodies. The latest Leyland order wit eventually bring its total of Panthers or Panther Cubs to 70. The corporation is to borrom £117,867 to cover the cost of the new vehicles
