THE largest single consignment so far carried on a roll-on roll-off ferry the first of two 50ton packaged boilers manufactured by John Thompson, Wolverhampton—last week journeyed to the new BP refinery at Gothenburg, Sweden.

Pickfords Ltd. handled the whole movement, from the loading at John Thompson's works to unloading on site some 500 yards from the roll-on roll-off ferry terminal at Gothenburg.

The boiler was taken to King George V Dock, Hull, where tractive units, trailer and load were driven on to the England Sweden line ferry SVEA.

A FURTHER eight miles of the M4 LondonSouth Wales Motorway from Hambrook to Tormarton, in Gloucestershire, were opened last Friday by Mr. Stephen Swingler, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport. Built at a cost of over ÂŁ51 million, the new section brings to 20 miles the completed length of M4 in the West.
