DRIVER'S MATE • The Truck Driver's Handbook is in three sections covering the law, the practicalities of the job on the road and useful information.

All aspects of the book reflect the driver's point of view, such as tachographs, driving hours, speed limits, roping and sheeting, vehicle coupling and lorry bans. There is also a chapter on first aid.

The information section covers breakdown services, motorway service areas, local radio stations and traffic area offices. Pirate Video

• Rubery Owen-Rockwell is warning fleet operators to beware of buying non-genuine, spurious replacement parts.

The warning comes as part of RO-R's second video magazine. It includes an example of a new camshaft that looks better than the genuine article. In fact, the spurious camshaft had not been induction hardened and some of the dimensions were inaccurate.
