• According to the West German regional Transport Minister in NorthrhineWestphalia, lorries caused 18.2% of the accidents in the region although they represented only 13.4% of the drivers. Driving too fast was the main cause of accidents. Other causes were driving too close to the vehicle in front, dangerous overtaking manoeuvres and insecure loads. Nutzfahrzeug, No. 8, August.
