Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

VEHICLES fitted with couplings to take a 40 mm DIN trailer drawbar eye cause problems when they have to pull a trailer fitted with a 50 mm ISO eye — which is now becoming the usual drawbar size.

To overcome the difficulty and eliminate time-consuming changeovers of couplings, the Swedish cornpany VGB Produkter KB has developed a coupling in which the bar passing through the trailer drawbar eye can be changed to either DIN or ISO sizes in a few minutes.

The changeover unit is made of cast steel with two moving parts in a detachable housing. If replacement is required, the mechanism can be renewed in under five minutes — it carries a 125,000 mile guarantee against wear. The UK concessionaire is the John R. Billows Group, Pytchley Lodge Road, Kettering, Northants.
