MORE THAN 40 doubledecker buses are being used to transport service families, evacuated from Cyprus, from Brise Norton airbase to Swindon and Paddington railway stations. The vehicles are operated by City of Oxford Motor Services Ltd and are working on a round-the-clock
basis to meet the special flights which have been arriving every 30 minutes. The company, which has an RAF contract, has had to charter vehicles from private operators to help out. Its own double-deckers carry passengers upstairs and luggage in the lower saloon.
