NEGOTIATIONS are now being concluded between a British manufacturer and VW, of Germany, for the supply of diesel engines to be used in a new transporter due for introduction in the summer of 1975. The new model, which will be front-engined, is for payloads between 1500 and 1750kg, and is aimed at a large slice of the market now held by the Mercedes-Benz light range. An Audi petrol engine is an alternative power unit.
