BECAUSE of an accumulated deficit, the Department of the Environment is proposing to increase the fee for operators' licences from £4 per cehicle a year to £5. This will be the first increase since the licence was introduced in 1970.
Also proposed is the advanced payment of £1 for an interim licence instead of the fee becoming due at the end of its period of validity.
