Rs. 40m. FOR CEYLON'S TRANSPORT

THE Ceylon Treasury are to release Rs. 40m. in three instalments towards the capital expenditure of the Transport Board. This amount will enable the Board to buy new buses and build and equip premises. It has yet to be decided how the sums for compensating the present operators of buses in Ceylon are to be raised. The Prime Minister's sanction had to be gained before the amount mentioned was released. Another Rs. 50m. may be needed for compensation.
