BIGGER LOADS FOR BARRIERS

vulTH immediate effect, Karrier W Motors, Ltd., announce the uprating of their Bantam 8-ft 2-in. and 104t. 2-in.-wheelbase 2-ton petrol and oil-engined vehicles. The gross vehicle weight on standard 25 x 6 tyres is increased from 85 cwt. to 99 cwt. For the optional tyre equipment of 27 x 6 or 6.50-20 (8-ply) the gross vehicle weight will be 102 cwt. The vehicles will be known as Bantam 2-3-tonners.

RELIEF AT STAINES?

RECOM MENDATIONS for avoiding traffic congestion in Staines at weekends are being considered by the Minister of Transport. They have been submitted by Mr. A. Samuels, chairman of the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee. They are said to include one-way working across the Thames by the use 'of a Bailey bridge beside the existing bridge.
