AGROSS profit of £28,294 was shown on the working of the• buses of Burnley, Colne and Nelson Joint Transport Committee in the year ended March 31, 1935, income having totalled £178,117 and working expenses £149,823. After meeting sinking fund, interest and certain other charges, the balance to be carried to the appropriation account amounts to £10,864.
During the past year, the 112 buses —mainly of Leyland make—covered an aggregate mileage of 3,705,401 and carried 26,819,357 passengers. The buses serve a route mileage of 77.7.
