• The Ministry of Agricultur has given the go-ahead to plan to produce Britain's first mobil abattoirs to replace the 40 slaughterhouses forced to clos this year.
Half the UK's 800 slaughtei houses are being shut down Ix cause they fail to meet Europea hygiene regulations.
The mobile units will avoi the need for animals having t travel far to be killed.
