Booming time
• A new Samson boom hoist that can be fitted to any pickup truck can lift about a tonne.
The hoist is operated by two all-weather winches, powered by the truck's 12v battery. It can be removed in 20 minutes, using a forklift truck or a special gantry supplied by Samson, and costs £4,500 including fitting.
