THE Irish Transport Trust are organising their 5th Annual Bus and Coach Rally in Bangor, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, on Saturday, May 1. Starting from Belfast (Montgomery Road) at 10.30 am the rally crosses part of North Down to Castle Park Grounds, Bangor (opposite Bus/Rail Stations).

There are driving tests at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum Car Park at Cultra to test the skill of the drivers, starting at 11.45 a.m. and also a veteran drivers contest.

After lunch, the vehicles will be judged for "Concours d'Elegance" at Castle Park Grounds, taking account of design, passenger facilities, mechanical and structural condition together with cleanliness. Vehicles will be on view to the public.

The vehicles and drivers will be competing for trophies and prizes donated by two leading commercial vehicle suppliers; a coach building concern, the Bangor Tourist Development Association and the Road Transport Industry Training Board. These will be presented to the winners and runners-up by Mr Barry Cowan, B.B.C. Television personality, at approximately 4 pm.
