A new idea of mutual aid, as between police and motor drivers, has been introduced by Salford chief constable, Major Godfrey. At his behest, Inspector Milner has visited a number of concerns to address their commercial-vehicle drivers on ways ad means for reducing mishaps, and o invite ideas from the operators.
Already one proposal has met so heartily with Major Godfrey s approbation that he has referred t to the Ministry of Transport, a ciri er of 30 years' experience having adv cated an improved method of fitting windscreens.
Employers Give Corona "on Programmes.
Many employers are adopti g an excellent method for helping King George's Jubilee Trust. This is by presenting copies of the comprehensive official souvenir programme of Ithe Coronation to their staffs in shops, offices and factories. Some have extended the gift to their customers.
