WT have had an opportunity of perusing the 1929 edition of a comprehensive catalogue issued by the East London Rubber Co., the offices of which are at 29-33, Great Eastern Street, London, E.C.2.
The book, which is substantially bound, contains illustrations, descriptions and prices of the goods stocked by this concern, which include accessories for all types of motor vehicle, garage equipment, electrical goods and other equipment.
The catalogue is divided into sections. Which deal with tyres and accessories, tools and electrical equipment, and chapters are devoted to accessories for three of the leading makes of motor vehicle. The initial page of each division is clearly marked on the righthand edge of the leaf, and it is a simple matter to refer to the page upon which
C24 the equipment desired is described and illustrated.
Amongst numerous accessories of which details are given is the Hutto cylinder hone, the grinder of which has six bearing surfaces, it being of the type fitted with an expanding segmental wheel with a positive setting. The hone, the various models of which range between £.8 18s. and £18 2s. in price, is claimed to be self-centring, non-chattering and easily adjustable.
Several patterns of air compressor are mentioned, typical of which is the Regalite, a pump which, it is said, can maintain a pressure of 250 lb. per sq. in., the pump speed being 450 r.p.m. Two models of the Itegalite pump are marketed, the prices being £45 15s. and £60 respectively.
The Id.E.N.-Myers' and other washing plants are illustrated and described,
a particular model having one gun and 25 ft. of hose. Three sizes of
Myers' washing apparatus are available, the prices being 148, £96 and £70 respectively.
Mention of much equipment suitable for the maintenance of a municipal or private fleet is made, that specified in this paragraph being typical of the wide range of goods for motor-vehicle maintenance which is stocked by the East London Rubber Co.
From a catalogue which is so voluminous in character it is well-nigh impossible to select for specific mention any particular class of plant, tools or equipment, but suffice it to say that whatever the commercial-vehicle owner requires for the successful operation of his vehicle, or for the proper upkeep and maintenance of them, his steeds can be met by the company.
