RHA Scottish director Phil Flanders hopes the inquiry will reveal the truth that the industry is in dire straits: "I hope it will show that hauliers are struggling and their customers won't pay increased costs; in addition, putting freight onto rail may seem like a good idea but is not always practical. We need the Scottish Executive to see the real story about what is happening to the industry and what can he done about it."
