Under this act gatherings of more than six vehicles in which the occupants live can be banned from the site they are on, or the vehicles confiscated and their owners fined. Clearly, many truck drivers could be said to "live" in their vehicles for much of the time.

While the law is aimed at travellers, or anybody else the Government doesn't like, it is easy to see how residents opposed to trucks gathering for shows could seek injunctions against the organisers. Truckstops could also be forced to shut up shop. The Hawk doesn't mean to be alarmist but now is the time to get rid of those sleeper cabs before the law does the decent thing!
