Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Yet another piece of apparatus for truck cabs comes on the market next year. It's the Travelpilot, the Bosch electronic vehicle navigation system which incorporates a compact disc as memory; microcomputer preparing the location; and 12cm CRT (cathode ray tube) providing the display.

The compact disc has the function of a CD-ROM (readonly memory — non-erasable electronic memory) digitally memorising road names. The first rolling road maps of this type in England will include all towns over 100,000 inhabitants and connecting motorways and trunk roads.

The price of an individual Travelpilot with CD-ROM will be around 21,500 excluding VAT.

New equipment for the upmarket haulier that should ensure expensive trucks never get lost – shown here the Bosch Travelpilot consol-mounted monitor.
