Your writer Richard Scrase stated that two-pack paints contain "very poisonous" cyanide. This is not true. Twopack paints are isocyanatebased and the similarity in names is where the confusion arises. Isocyanates should not be compared with cyanides as they are completely different.

Isocyanate is made up of nitrogen, carbon and oxygen, whereas cyanide is just nitrogen and carbon. lsocyanates used in the paint industry are polymeric in form and are less volatile than most cyanides, and therefore much less dangerous. Provided that air-fed respiratory equipment is used, and manufacturers' health and safety instructions are followed, those two-pack paints can be used without any adverse effects on health.
