• Six former managers at coach operator Trathens have admitted conspiring to falsify tachograph charts. Four others have denied any involvement and two are still to plead.

Michael Trathen, of Green Lane, Yelverton; David Trathen, of Down Road, Tavistock; Nigel Fox, of Kingstatnerton Road, Kingstamerton, Plymouth; Christopher Shaw, of Lower Boston Road, Hanwell, Middlesex; Michael Scaife, of Leat Walk, Roborough, Plymouth, and David Gordon, of Mayfield Close, Carterton, Oxfordshire all pleaded guilty at Bristol Crown Court to conspiring together and with others to make false entries on drivers' records sheets.

James Bennett, of Merrivale View Road, Dousland, Yelverton; Frank Glynn, of Uxbridge Drive, Ernesettle, Plymouth; Keith Roper, of Church Road, Cowley, Uxbridge, and Kenneth Smith, of Heriot Road, Chertiey, all pleaded not guilty to conspiring to make false entries.

Accused of similar offences, but yet to enter any plea, are Graham Masters, of Horrabridge, Yelverton and Brian Pritchard, of Westbridge Cottages, Tavistock.

The trial, which is expected to last for up to two months, is due to start at the beginning of October.
