JAMES MOFFAT and Sons of Cardenden, Fife, has been refused a haulage depot at Donibristle Industrial Estate, near Dunfermline, which was intended to serve its major customer at Inverkeithing.
Dunfermline District Council planning officials tested starting up and found noise levels of 20 dBA above background noise levels and ruled that was unacceptable.
Moffat offered to build an embankment between the working area and the nearby houses, but this was rejected as unacceptable and the application rejected.
